Started in Western New York in the early 1960's by Carole Thoms,Skyloft has continued under a second generation Morgan enthusiast, Jennifer Thoms. Our breeding program is known for producing outstanding horses of quality, type and temperament. As breeders we look to offer and produce a correct, personable horse, that is sound, & talented, in addition to being aesthetically gorgeous and reaching for the breed standards. We have produced futurity winning weanling's, outstanding show, breeding and family horses for over 5 decades, offering a consistent track record of success. Check our sales lists to see what we currently have available.
Skyloft Morgans can be found in several divisions. Having produced park horses such as Skyloft Dynasty, to carriage horses like Skyloft Nathan Allan, Skyloft Forget Me Not, and Skyloft Captivation, even more have gone on to be valued family friends. We raise horses that are enjoyable, sound, and competitive in today’s show ring while maintaining the correct type and temperament that has earned the breed's title of most versatile. It is not uncommon to see our horses taking the tri-colors at a show, only to come home and have them hit the trails, chase some cows, or work as equine actor's.
We are always happy to have visitors stop by and see our historic, multigenerational farm and horses, however we do ask that you call ahead for an appointment to make sure we will be available to make the most of your visit with us.

From the NYSMHS Archives, Story by Club Historian~ Valerie Low...
"One of my first "duties" upon being handed the
NYSMHS "history" archives was to try to organize the many documents
that these binders/folders/boxes contained.
A name that I came across with frequency was
Carole Thoms. Having served as our NYSMHS Recording Secretary
from 1968 to 1973 and then as our New York International Morgan
Horse Show Secretary for a number
of years, Carole was a dedicated volunteer. In reading through
old minutes and letters I was impressed with her diplomacy and
organizational skills.
I've been involved with Morgans in the
Rochester area for over 30 years, and although I've often heard of
Skyloft Morgan Farm I've never had the opportunity to visit with
Carole, so this seemed a good time to rectify that.
Carole is soft-spoken about the
accomplishments of her Skyloft Morgans, so If you'll join me I'll
see if I can do her story justice..."
