Lessons
New! Beginning May 2012 we will open our doors and offer intruction here on the farm. Have your own horse at home? We can come to you for lessons on your own horse for an additional mileage fee. If lessons are in your future we suggest you explore the options offered here at Skyloft. Learn to ride on our seasoned show and pleasure horses and also some of our equine actors. Instruction is provided by lifetime horsewoman, trainer and instructor, Jennifer Hartwell. We do require riders to wear helmets, long pants, and a boot with a small heel. Lessons are offered in blocks of four in either 1/2 hour, or one hour sessions. We also are offering a special rate for beginning riders that need to learn the basics of handling a horse, tacking up and safety as these sessions may or may not involve riding intially. Hauling
Currently offering hauling services in our step up, slant load, 3 horse trailer. We can also offer our spacious stock trailer can accommodate up to 6 horses comfortably, or divide for 2 open box stalls. If you have a local emergency, we can assist you and help take some of the worry out of your emergency trip. With both the open trailer and the traditional slant load, we are able to accommodate a variety of horses. Call for availability on your date(s). Reasonable rates and careful drivers!
Horse Sales
Buying a horse is an investment, both financially and emotionally. To that end it's important to find the right match and have a good buying experience. We're here to help guide you in your purchase. Having an agent to take care of the details is much like buying a house with a realtor, we look out for your interests and help you find the right fit at the right price. Even if your not looking for a Morgan, we have many contacts to help find you the right horse or pony with confidence.
Selling a horse can also be a time consuming and often frustrating endeavour. Let us take the worry out of how to best market your horse. We are now offering video/photo/marketing packages for horses sent to Skyloft for sale. We offer a board rate for sales horses that will include training & conditioning, promotional materials and marketing, prep & grooming for buyer appointments as well as regular owner updates of all progress. We charge a standard 10% commission on sales. Drop us a note to talk to us about your sales prospects as many times we have a list of people looking for something specific.
Judging Services
Open show judging services are available for 2011, and booking ahead for 2012 events now. Jennifer is available for your open, 4-H, and other shows/events. Experience includes open shows in hunter, western, over fences, games classes, halter, showmanship, and many other misc. classes. Please call or email for date availability, references and rates.
Training
Beginning in the summer of 2011, there will be 2 openings for our training services. We specialize in creating a trusting partnership, and solid foundations in everything from groundwork, to clipping and general handling. No matter if your looking for a trail horse or show horse, we have the experience to bring along your horse in a slow and steady fashion so that you'll have a sound horse with a long career ahead of them. We also give you honest feedback and won't waste your money. If your horse won't be suitable for what you hoped, we let you know right off. We strive to educate our horses in a manner that teaches them respect and also to look forward to their time with us. A horse that is happy in it's job is the most important outcome.
