Dragonsmeade Crescendo
(Beethoven X Equinox Cicada), 1998
Chris holds a special place here with us at Skyloft. He is the 2005 World Champion Ladies Hunter and also the 2005 Grand National Ladies Hunter Pleasure Gelding. The following excerpt from the 2005 Morgan Connection's Grand National Results Issues, wraps him up: "Dragonsmeade Crescendo and Keely Sogoloff won the World Ladies Hunter Pl Championship with a spectacular performance and two firsts on the cards. Crescendo is a flashy black-bay with matching hind socks. He exemplifies what we love in today's Morgan hunter, dynamic and exciting but still light in hand and instantly responsive." (and in the Geldings Class) "Dragonsmeade Crescendo prevailed in a group of seventeen and gave notice he was going to be in consideration for the world title." Present day finds Chris relaxing peacefully in his private paddock and the occasional ride. A return to the show ring may be in his future...
Dolce In Town
(Red Docs Clark Olena X Trixie Tee Jay),2005 Registered APHA & Buckskin
One of our non-Morgans here at the farm. Dolce has amassed a pretty serious fan club, even from our die hard Morgan lovers. Dolce is bred to be a cow horse through and through. We bought Dolce as a yearling to become Ben's personal mount, and to have him grow into a horse he could use in his beef operations. Dolce is currently being prepped to show in some local halter classes summer of 2011.
Stu
Grade
Stu is the most wonderful boy! Thanks to Roger for letting this guy become a member of our family. Stu is a pro when it comes to swimming in the pond, ponying young horses, trail rides, and he's also a seasoned team penner and former jousting horse. He is a big Baroque horse with a heart of gold, and very competitive spirit!
The Brass Master FMF
(Michigan's Secretary Of Brass X Willowlawn's Darling "D"
We are awe-struck by this pony! He is very upheaded, and moves like a little park horse. A lovely Sabino and Splash Pinto gelding. This is one fancy moving boy, and we hope to get him out and about in the pony carriage division so he can STRUT his STUFF! Check out his feature in the Mexican equine magazine "Mundo Equino". His foals have gone on to win many titles and are fast earning Hall Of Fame status!
Brighty
2005 Mini Donkey
Even on a dreary day, this little man makes us all smile. He scores a 10 on personality alone. Brighty is a wonderful babysitter to some of our young stock, in addition to providing us with a 'someones here' bray. We may get this little guy going in harness just for fun!
Cowboy
Est. 1993, Grade Morgan
Cowboy came to us by way of the Forever Morgans Rescue in late 2008. Pictured his first week here, Cowboy is the product of a discarded Amish driving horse from the New Holland Sale. He had a swollen knee upon arrival which is likely why he was sent to auction and had been marked for the Mexican slaughter truck. Since coming to us he has had 100% pasture rest and has been just allowed to be a horse. His swelling quickly stopped and hasn't returned, likely as he is no longer pounding the pavement. Just this last year, Cowboy has saddled up and is taking part in a local film. He has been a model actor, and is a constant reminder that good solid horses are meeting some sad fates. Watch for some of his 'behind the scenes' pictures soon....
